Our Story.
As home school parents, we long to share our experiences with others who have chosen similar paths. The Group and Friday Friends are open to families who desire to learn together while building lasting friendships. The goal of these groups is to provide an opportunity for families to support each other in the homeschooling adventure. Support is offered through various educational opportunities and social events.
The Group began in the summer of 2015 with five families. With Friday Friends, it is now comprised of over 200 families committed to building relationships with others. While we may not agree in everything, we are devoted to developing a loving atmosphere by joyfully serving one another through patience, kindness, and grace.
The Group provides parents the freedom to offer classes or to locate a teacher willing to teach a desired subject. Since this group was founded on Christian principles of self-government, teachers are responsible for setting the times, fees, and rules for their classes and parents are responsible for governing their families. The managers of the Group manage the details of the Group, not the people.
We hope you will join us as we plan for an exciting year!

How to Sign up.
We love our community and wish that everyone who wanted could join us but due to space constraints, new family enrollment is currently limited to those who are recommended or “sponsored” by an active member. Your sponsor can walk you through the sign-up process by:
*Making sure you fill out a new family contact form and that the right person receives it.
*Putting you in contact with teachers as needed
*Answering questions along the way
*Keeping you informed about new family enrollment dates or perhaps even signing up for you if you cannot be there in person.
Paper signups for classes usually happen during class days in Nov/Dec and again in May/June. A digital version will be available during the summer for any changes or additions.

Next Steps.
We primarily use the BAND app for communication. Once your children are for sure enrolled (not just on a waitlist), your sponsor can help you join our BAND and that's it.

*Purchase necessary books/supplies for each class as directed by the teacher.
* In August, pay facility/insurance fee and pay individual teachers.
